    Default Zig zag stich?

I have a quilt top I need to sandwich and quilt quick. I was thinking stitch-in-the-ditch but then thought maybe I could use the zig zag stitch on my machine. I would go over the lines where the pieces come together (it is made of charm squares).

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Things to watch out for? Anyone want to scream, "NO!"

no reason why you can't. myself, i like the wavy stitch to sew over the seams. On my brother machine it is called "serpentine". i've also seen some nice quilts where different decorative stitches were used over the seams instead of a straight stitch .

I'd try it on a sample before attempting it on your quilt. If you hate it you won't want to deal with removing it.

I've used the "wavy" stitch on a couple of kids quilts, turned out ok!

There is no reason not to use your zigzag stitch, just test it on a sample to make sure you like the length and width of the stitch.

Already deleted it, but I had an e-mail from one of my quilt newsletters this morning and they were showing fancy stitching to quilt your quilt - and they used the zig-zag. I agree to test it and be sure it's what you want on your quilt.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I played with the zig zag and didn't like any of the length/width combinations. So I just did stitch in the ditch (and sometimes stitch near the ditch). Went fast and looks fine.
