Mary Ellen's best press

I love it too! I have fabric in my cabinet from years ago. (Yes, it's true - there is stuff in there that hasn't seen the light of day for years.) hehe. Anyways, this means that it is folded and has been for quite some time. Try getting those fold marks out when ironing - bring on the Best Press and it works wonders. Speaking of which I need to pick some up at the Lancaster show next weekend. I'm hoping someone has some on sale.

Love this stuff. Just like Trish said, it makes gettn the wrinkles out a snap. I do use the unscented because I have an issue with smells, so I'm glad it comes in unsented. Love using it when I'm making the bias binding.

I agree with everyone----love the stuff!!! Scented, unscented.......wrinkles out for sure and for good! GREAT stuff!

If you can't find it in your area, take a look on the starch shelves at the grocery store. I use spray Suavetel since I can't get Mary Ellens here. It works about the same and is MUCH cheaper. I use it on my fabric and DH's work clothes.

that's pretty funny....but sad.. that the "fabric store" personnel would say that in answer to your question....LOL
I worked for Walmart for about 3 yrs. in the fabric dept. here locally (which they disbanded, for the "shelf/self help stuff"... but was constantly reminded that i should not spend too much time with "the customers"... I was helping newbies with info in both quilting, sewing , Dad's wanting to know what to buy for wives or daughter's , first machines, self-assemble sewing storage cabinets... (they still sell this one, its a beauty for around 100.00)... can't tell you how many i sold... noions for stocking stuffers, Mother's Day...As for the yarn, i printed my own handouts for little beginner scarfs, and poncho's (my own design).... it was a blast...!!!
Loved the people i worked with.. but was constantly reminded i would get a write-up for NOT TAKING LUNCH, at the exact right hour... doesn't matter if there is a customer... what a hoot...
The best part is that i only work for fun!! So i'd say.... sure write me up.. when i get enough, and it's not fun anymore,, i'll just leave.. no problem.. no hard feelings.. if it ain't fun,,, i ain't doin' it!!!!
So......... at the end of 3 yrs.. i just said goodbye.. they could not believe i'd do that... just told them... the fun was over.. LOL
But people still stop me when i'm shopping and ask questions... Life is good.... just had to share that one....

I love it. You can purchase it at Hancocks. They also sell it at Amazon.com. Also, you can dilute it with water to make it go further. I have and it still works great!!

Best Press is great, but can get pricey. There was a recipe on here in the fall for a home made version of it. It had liquid starch, vodca (spelling sorry!), distilled water, and whatever scent you liked. We have made 2 batches so far and like it just as much as Best Press.

LOL. I love that recipe, but I'm concerned that when I've ripped out the same seam four or five times, I might be tempted to drink the vodka laced Best Press......

Now I know I have to order some of this

I use it all the time and love it- the various fragrances are great. I get it at my local quilt shop or Hancocks.
