    Default I give up!

After making some star blocks using a tutorial Jenny did on jelly roll stars, I tried to figure out how she made the quilt she showed in the tutorial. Tossed and turned a night ago, played around with my blocks and scraps last night, and I can't figure it out. So I just gave up and ordered the pattern " Stars Aligned"-- description says it is cleverly engneered, so there is definitely something tricky as to how it is put together. Has anyone used ths pattern?

See my blog for the blocks I've already made using Patternista on black. www.soooowht.blogspot.com

Have you looked at the directions? Do you know how they put the blocks together?

Jean, Are you talking about the pastel one on the wal in the tutoriall? If so, she used 2 1/2 strips of white between each star and a pastel square in the corners. I think if you really look closely you can see the squares. OOPS!!!! I just realized the quilt I'm thinking about is on her Craftsy tutorial...sorry Jean!!! Barb

Barb, I'm pretty good at figuring out how things go together, but I see no clear lines of sewing in this one. It isn't a quilt on the wall, she shows it in the jelly roll star tutorial, she has it on the table and shows the pattern package in the tutorial. I think it has some trick that I can't quite figure out of how to build it, the star blocks interlock with a square separating them. I've sort of got an idea how to do it, but not totally. Jenny showed it as a partially finished star, I'm thinking she didn't show the 4th part of the star because somehow it hooks on to the next star in some mysterious way.
But thanks for the idea and for something to look at.
Did you have bad storms last night? Are you and your family and neighbors OK? Sounds like Branson and other southern MO towns got hit pretty hard.

Jean, I have actually made the quilt. It was a very simple pattern to me. I actually have step by step pictures on how to put it together. If you will send me your email address I will email them to you. My email address is mike.leavell@att.net. My version of it may be in my photo album I'm not sure. I have some in there that I have made. I hope I can be of some help to you.

    Good Luck.

Lynne I looked at your quilt it is the one with the yellow back. I see how it is done from looking at yours. I just made my stars incorrectly. My way works as long as you don't have to intertwine the blocks. I'll just have some extra blocks to use for a wall hanging to go with my quilt! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your offer of help! We are a half a world apart! Although in Missouri we didn 't get a lot of sleep lst might because we had severe storms and tornados going through many towns. I think our quilting friends were spared any damage.
