I sew my pieces together all the time....no problem. I do make a lot of placemats, table runners and holiday banners. I especially use the pieces for these projects because they don't get the same wear as a quilt. However I do save my larger pieces for the quilts and because I tend to quilt very close together.....I have NEVER had a problem...when I sew mine together I use my multi-stitch zig zag stitch..... I only use warm and natural batting....
