My sewing time is during my 11 month old's 1 hour morning nap. And trust me when I say this, rushing is just as bad as being distracted. Last week I was wearing a summer dress with a tie up bit at the front and didn't realize when the tie caught on a pin and I ended up sewing myself to what I was working on. Talk about frustrating!!! But now I can look back and laugh about it.

Thanks you all made me feel better! I took a nap (which never happens, so I was happy), and then when I woke up I felt much better about it. I will fix it tomorrow. I will have to take a pic of all the blocks together, it's coming along nicely.

    Humpty Dumpty- LOL!!!

Let's just say that the ties are now about 6 inches shorter and much safer.

Tina, I laughed out loud at you sewing your dress to your work...I could see myself doing something like that. Jessica, some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug...sounds like you had a bug day today before your nap. I'm glad you're happy now.

I do this alot even without distractions. Just put it down and walk away for a few minutes. When you are ready you can unsew it and fix it---then you will feel better. I seem to do this alot when I am zoning out and thinking of other things while I am sewing.

sewing is my therapy; it relaxes me; but I have also made my share of mistakes...get up do the dishes and come back to it...works every time...you know; make the bed; any small 10 min. task just to get my mind off of what I have just done...usually works too
