I think your quilt lends itself to a scrappy binding. Not so if it had a busy pattern. I feel a "scrappy" look would add much interest . I've done it several times & get lots of compliments on choosing a scrappy binding. GO FOR IT !!!!!!!!!!!

I used a scrappy binding with all different sized strips on a 1600 Jelly Roll quilt and it came out looking great, if I do say so myself, but I'd use uniform pieces for yours. I put them together using a 45 degree angle just like with regular binging and recommend it. I think it would add a really cute touch to an already adorable quilt!

3/4 done quilting...thought I was doing a rather large meander but it's still turning out pretty heavily quilted! I just can't train my mind to go even bigger! Will finish tomorrow...I'm starting to get stupid because I'm tired and my shoulders hurt. Can't wait to be done and then bind! More photos in my 'album'...

I'm making my little great grandaughter a quilt I'm thinking of using the left overs for the binding. I actually like the way it looks.

I have one a friend made for me with a scrapped binding. I love it. I think you should do it that way.

Personally, I would NOT put a scrappy binding on your quilt. As said earlier, your quilt is very neat and "organized" (absolutely lovely and perfectly pieced by the way!) and my opinion would be to bind it with 1 solid colour.

Every time I finish binding a quilt I throw the leftovers in my binding drawer. I like making scrappy bindings. Doesn't matter what length they are. I just join them all together. I makes for a very unique binding and add lots of interest. Of course I usually only do this on scrappy quilts. Love your quilt and i think a binding made up of all your different colors would look fantastic!
