In my experience Sasha, pressing to the dark side doesn't always work....and not for every quilt. I wouldn't rearrange the quilt blocks if I were you. I'd just re-press the blocks that were not fitting properly.... press those the opposite way. I am waiting to hear what others say also because that's the way I've solved the same problem in the past.

If you're working from a professional quilt design pattern, it will tell you within which rows to press to the right, which to the left if need be for proper nesting to reduce bulk.

Otherwise I do what Judy said, "re-press"!

I have found the same thing. I press to the dark side, but when I assemble...all the dark sides are not going the same way so the connecting seams aren't either or they bunch at the junction. I haven't found a solution for that either. I have been tending to press toward the heavier side...cotton/poly is thinner than 100% cotton and I just press to the side it shows through the least. I have also found better to press toward a print than the solid.

I've sewn many blocks together where the adjoining seams were pressed to the same side without any problems.

Don't forget, Darth Vadar is on the DARK SIDE!
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I should have added that when I do sew them together I sometimes press that new seam open; this way the bulk doesnt end up on one side.
