Red face using the spider web template...

just throwing this out there to the girls here that quilt the way i do.... (Crazy)... LOL

I know some one is having issues with this pattern...i only bought the template, thinking,,, hey i can just strip piece some fabric and stitch that to each side and cut it into the shape...

(i was thinkin' i could just draw a line from the top point(of template) down on each side...... then draw a line across.... am i being too simple minded about this... as long as i make them all the same it should work right????

Please, those of you that are ot "number challenged" like me... tell me if i'm bonkers... in my mind i think it will work!!!
Thanks for any input,,, hugs Barbara

That's basically what I was thinking of doing. Why not try a block and see how it goes? It seems to add up in my mind, and they aren't supposed to be perfect anyway!

as long as the triangle that you draw will make a square when you put 4 together it should work.

Agreed, agreed, agreed. Quite often I look at something and tell myself, "Sandy (that's what I call me) . . . Sandy, you can do THAT," and I can design it (may not be able to sew a straight line at all, but I can tell you exactly what it would/should look like).

Go for your wacky-wonky spiderweb. I never saw a spider carrying around a pattern anyway.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

I have the template and papers too. I made 2 of them and they didn't line up real well so I think I'll try it your way and see what happens. A question though....would the template have to be in the exact same spot on each paper to make it line up, if so well I suppose I'll have a real wacky-wonkny spiderweb.

The first block i looked for direction to make was the Spiderweb. I thought i was just the most fun sqrappy block ever - Guess where i found the pattern? Bonnie Hunter's website! which eventually led me to MSQC so in a circle (or web as this may be) here is the link to quiltville ... http://quiltville.blogspot.com/2005/...pider-web.html and how to make the paper template

AHA.. Bonnie Hunter... the site that got me intrigied (if that's a word, it's not spelled right, but i'll get over it)...i remember seeing her spiderweb, and lovin' it.

Shirley..........I was thinking , NO paper.. just make whacky strip fabric and "stitch and cut to fit", kinda like big crumb quilting??

Sandy....... we would make a great team.. my quilting buddy always says.. oooo, i won't do that, too much "bias".. to which i replay,,, press real hard, pin it, if it puckers.. stitch it down.. and quilt it in... it's get a chuckle every time...she's a perfectionist, and i'm the resident comic relief, and daredevil...

That just might work, maybe I'll try one when I get home from work today. I was thinking paper because I bought 2 packs of it LOL.
