    Default Please help me decide.....

While I was away I purchased some beautiful fabric and I can't decide what type of quilt to make. The fabric really looks like a fine wool but actually it is flannel. Here is a link ....so you can see how gorgeous it is.

I chose greens, tans, browns and greys and there is a bit of dark maroon too..... one yard of each of ten different fabrics.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks so much in advance....

That is the hardest part for me-to see all that gorgeous fabric and all the possibilities, and can't narrow it down to just one pattern.

That fabric is awesome! I really love flannel. My choice would be something with bigger simpler pieces vs intricate design with many small pieces.

    Check here: http://www.stitchinpost.com/freepatterns.html
Scroll down to 'Mosaic'. Love it and think it would be perfect for using flannel fabrics. Plus the block sizes are varied enough to show off the patterns. AND the pattern is FREE.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Have you ever been to this store? My sister has a weekend home in Sisters, and we went to this shop. That was BEFORE i fell in love with quilting. I'm going to try to visit her this summer and get her to take me to the quilt show.

These fabrics are just yummy looking. I haven't done much with flannel because i don't like to sleep with flannel sheets, I get too warm. But these colors may make me change my mind! It also looks like a high quality fabric, many flannels look so cheesy!

You're right Jean..... these are the most gorgeous flannels I've seen. When I saw them in the quilt shop, I thought they were wool...until I touched them. and YEP they were expensive.. Maybe I'll just look at them instead of cutting them up ....lol

When I get my hands on good quality flannels, I usually make a rag quilt with them because the fabric lends itself to unravel nicely when washed. I also buy flannel to back all children's quilts because it is so soft & cozy against their skin. The fabrics you are showing us are gorgeous!

The fabrics are wonderful...I have never made a flannel quilt...must try it!

oops--forgetfulness! I made my first one last year...as I recall, it was made of scraps that someone else sent me and I was not happy with the pilling of the cheaper flannels...still, it was a baby quilt that will be used and then tossed after it wears out and gets stained...

ok, let's try this again: I must try it with QUALITY flannels!
