    Default Recommend patterns for beginners

I've done 1 lap quilt, a pattern created by class instructor @ LQS. So yes, I can stand up in front of the meeting & say I am a Quiltaholic, with full blown addiction! I want to make large quilts for my 3 children for Christmas. I could enlarge the lap quilt pattern, but would like to look at other options too. What patterns would you recommend for beginners?

The Disappearing Nine patch (DP9) is a quick and easy pattern. Jenny has a tutorial on it.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. What about the Double Layer Cake? Doesn't look too hard, but I'm not sure about it.

The quilts with the layer cakes would be great too! Jenny has some fantastic tutorials that you might peruse (that will really make you a quiltaholic!) Let us know what you decide - Linda

Will do. The lap quilt I did was done from a Jelly Roll, so I know how to figure the fabric for that one. How large of a quilt does a layer cake make? Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot of questions.

Bookmark this link and memorize where you stuck it: http://www.unitednotions.com/un_main...uides!OpenPage

Play around on that page - lots of information about quilt sizes and how many precuts you need.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??
