Which fabric should I use for binding?
Hi everyone,
I'm almost finish making my first baby quilt for a friend out of 4 different hello kitty fabric. But now I'm stuck, I'm not sure which fabric to use for the binding. I still have the pink Hello Kitty Fabric that is cotton and the back fabric which is a white fleece like fabric with stars on it but if I can easily pick up more of the other fabric if you guys think I should use that for the binding.
Thanks in advance for all of your help!!!

I would probably go with the pink! I like to bring color out to my binding. I think the white would be okay but maybe a bit blah.
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
I'd go for either the pink or the blue. White is a bit blah as Rebecca's saying.

A colored binding will hide the dirt better. Those blankies tend to get drug all over the house!
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
I would go with a solid color, either pink or blue, slightly darker than the colors in the quilt.

hahaha that's what I always think when I bind a quilt!
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
Ditto.....Sweet quilt, too!
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
Either the pink or blue would be fine!
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
Cute quilt! Since I machine bind, I use something that goes with either the sashing or the backing, then my threads that show aren't so obvious. I detest hand sewing, and my quilts are built for utility, not to be judged at the county fair or a quilt show. I used Jenny's tutorial to simplify my machine binding technique.

I would use the pink or the blue to set the quilt off. Love the look of it.
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
I'd go with the pink or blue also..and if you don't have enough of either...I'd give a try to cutting squares out of each and making the border a square chain border. Maybe even use all four colors in the square chain. I am kind of doing one similar...my border chain is red/dotted pink and white (strawberry shortcake theme) so I"ll be watching what other say here too for ideas!
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
I would definately use one of the colors for the binding. i really think it makes the colors in the quilt stand out more

Pink or blue. I think the colors will help frame the quilt.
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
Thank you everyone for your opinion. I just wanted to let you guys know decided to go with the blue hello kitty fabric for the binding.
Re: Which fabric should I use for binding?
My response is most likely too late but.... did you consider piecing the pink & the blue together for the binding?
