Re: Very Decretive Blocks
Thanks for sharing that site. It's really attractive, so simple and yet young and perky looking. Don't quite know how to describe it.
I'm interested in seeing what these ladies suggest also. Nothing comes to mind right now, but I'll get back to you if I come up with any ideas for you.

Re: Very Decretive Blocks
this is pretty--I like it. I think that you could use any block that you feel attracted to. I like the old time ones myself--and I like different star blocks.
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
I love the old fashioned Hex signs and a lot of the star blocks also. Anything that grabs your attention that looks like it could be a picture in itself should work for you.
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
Dresdens are always very pretty, too. You could have a full dresden in the center and then a 1/4 dresden in each corner.
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
Have you looked at stained glass blocks? I think they're beautiful and it's simple adhesive applique. Here's a website to look at.

Re: Very Decretive Blocks
i recently read thread, i think it is good one and more informative.
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
Dresdens are a really good idea, thanks Dawn. I hadn't considered applique so much but this could also be very good
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
I came across one that I just love for you. The problem is that it is in an old issue of Am. Patchwork & Quilt magazine. It is in the April 2003 issue and you might be able to find one still for sale on ebay or such. If you can see a picture of it, I think you might just love it, too. It has a large circular center that has spiral pieces that look like a piece of peppermint candy or Christmas candy to me. Then the center has spiky triangles all around it. One is done in Amish style with solids in autumn type colors and another is done in prints. Think I might have to make this one myself (one day, HA). Also found one in lots of polka dots that is somewhat similar. If that sounds interesting to you, I'll try to get you a picture of either of those. Am techno-challenged. LOL
Re: Very Decretive Blocks
The first one is called Mississippi Wheel of Fortune...the Christmas candy centered one. LOL
And the polka dot one is a Piece of Cake one by Becky Goldsmith and Linda Jenkins and it's called Completely Dotty and is shown in the Am. Patchwork and Quilting Issue 66, Feb. 2004. Sorry these are such old magazines, but seems the newer ones aren't nearly as varied in their designs or as interesting in their articles. The piece of Cake one is similar to a dresden plate but the blades are much narrower and more interesting looking to me. Check them out if you can find them or PM me and I'll try to get you more info or a pic. Brenda in Bama

Re: Very Decretive Blocks
Yeahhh!! So glad you got pics. Sorry, I'm so tech-challenged. When I have a bit of time, I plan to learn how to post some stuff!
