What color thread are you planning on quilting it with? If it was me I'd choose the cream color and quilt with that color thread as well.

Oeps, sorry I was talking about the binding, and now I see that you're asking about the backing............
Binding in brown sounds great to me, a bright backing is beautiful with the dark, I would go orange to match the brown.
I'd go orange, especially if you are binding with brown - love the fabric that you've used.
I love each color in the quilt but I think I would go with blue for the backing since the orange is unavailable.

Thanks everyone!
I hope to get my order placed and finish up the quilts soon!
And I probably will just stitch in the ditch since I am still learning and haven't had a chance to practice FMQ since I just got my darning foot right after my surgery.
Jackie at MSCO was so nice to help me match the colors! I am going with green, which is one of the teachers' fav color anyways. The green was the best match! I think it would look great with the brown binding too. So excited!
I would go with that cream color that is in so many of the strips.

I also think the light blue is good. You could also go neutral with an off white. : )

i like pink color more. you may use pink color.

I agree with calling the shop. Give them the name of the line of fabric or tell them where they can look at the quilt top here on-line so they can see it. They should easily be able to suggest which solid in their shop will match.
