    Default Machine Quilting Thread Color

This is my quilt - the top has been sitting in my done pile for at least a few years. I finally grabbed some fabric for the back. The top is various shades of green, some aqua, brown, with cream sashing.
The back is a dark green/black
I am trying to figure out what color of thread you use when you are machine quilting. I'm going to just do some straight line quilting. But with the top so light and the bottom so dark. I can't ever get my machine just perfect so thread might pull through the back and vice-versus.

If you have good tension on your machine, you could use a dark color in the bobbin and a neutral color on top. If you aren't comfortable with how it would look due to tension, then I would go with a cream or natural or beige color of some kind.

    I really like the quilt!

Wow! This is gorgeous! I absolutely love the colours!
I am a beginner quilter, but just the other day I watched a video of Mary Pons talking about matching the thread to the back fabric. Actually, I'm not sure if it was the machine quilting video or the hand quilting video (i watched both on the same day).
Not much of an answer to your question, you'll get a better answer from the more experienced quilters!

That truly is a beautiful quilt! Just stunning colours! If you don't want to use invisible thread, I would match the bottom and since you have a lot of pattern in the top it would probably be just the right amount of colour. You should check out Leah Day's recent blog post where she discusses this exact issue. She shows the same quilt top with each block sewn in a different thread - quite remarkable how different they all look!

Your colors are beautiful. I would match the thread to the backing fabric. I have done it both ways and I like matching to the backing fabric.

Gorgeous quilt! I recommend matching your thread to your sashing, so that it remains crisp and together.

I've never done any machine quilting so I'm at a loss as what to recommend, but I wanted to comment on how beautiful your quilt was.
