Default I have a question about the Strip Twist Quilt

I am good on everything up until I am supposed to make the diagonal cut. Could I draw a line across and then sew on either side of the line and THEN do the cutting? I am afraid of the bias stretching. I need some advice from all of you "pros". I am new to all of this. Am I making this harder than it really is?
    Thanks,
    Vicki

Wow, you must really want to know since you asked 3 times.

I've not done this quilt before, although I have done other strip quilts that ended up with bias cuts. I've not had problems with the bias stretching, but my machine has automatic even feed. If you don't have that, you could always sew the blocks with a walking foot. Some people have said that if they starch their pieces before cutting that the starch also helps to keep the bias from stretching.

If I am remembering the Strip Twist right, you have to turn some of your triangles before sewing them back together, so I don't think you can get away with drawing the line and stitching before cutting.

I did NOT mean to ask 3 times. I was embarrassed to see that, and would have loved to have been able to delete a couple of them. I am having one of those kinds of days. Thanks for answering. I will try the starch.

No worries, I got a chuckle out of it. I know there are times I'd like to delete and start over. It would be nice to be able to delete your posts as long as no one has replied to it.
