Re: Double Wedding Ring with jelly roll
I think jelly rolls may work depending on the size of your templates or paper piecing patterns.
If you're looking for templates, I recommend the ones from Shar Jorgenson at Quilting from the Heartland. I included a link to her site.
You can catch some videos of her using the templates on Quilter's TV. I included the link too.
Click on "Heartland/Shar" at the top right of the screen under "Video channels". When the first video starts rolling, click on "browse videos" under the viewing screen. Scroll through the titles until you hit the videos for doudle wedding ring. There's the traditional DWR (#8), Diamond Wedding Ring (#7) Glorified 9 Patch (#11) and Starflower (#27). The last 3 are based on the DWR. All can be made from the same templates from Shar. I have them but have yet to use them to make anyone of these four variations. Using all the variations would make a great sampler wallhanging quilt I think!!!

My first wedding ring quilt was using one print for the entire arch rather than several little pieces. I'll try one block and see how it goes. Thanks again for all the responses. Very much appreciated.

The Eleanor Burns' version uses 3 inch strips, so a jellyroll would be too narrow. Eleanor's method looks really simple and fun. You might want to take a look!

I just watched part of the video and it seems she trims quite abit away after sewing on the stabilizer to the arc. I think a 2 1/2" strip might work if you're careful.

I agree, Denis! I don't understand why she used such a large strip for the size template she used. I'm sure you could use 2 1/2" strips.
