I have a couple beautiful Dutch coasters here - the colors on them would be fabulous for a lap quilt!! You could easily do a rag quilt and add some solids - I'm thinking red, yellow and blue to bring home the true colors of Holland when the tulips start blooming. You could make your squares as large as 8-10 inches and it would sure go together quick. Also, since Atlanta is pretty much in the south, you wouldn't need a lot of batting (if any) and they don't need to be bound. That would make it lighter weight for traveling since you may have excess baggage and/or weight.
