I'm piecing a quilt back for my son's quilt. It will be 3 horizontal pieces. When you sew the seams to piece the back do you:
1) sew along the seam just once or do you go over it a 2nd time to strengthen it?
2) press the seam up, down, or press the seam open?
3) still sew a scant 1/4" seam or make it larger when piecing a back?
