I have an Rowenta Effective Model DX1700 that I picked up at Ross for $24.99 - had it for just over 7 months and love it so far. Use it mostly without steam. Do use distilled water when we steam (DH is Army Vet, does his own shirts).

Had a different Rowenta in CA, can't remember what model that we used mostly steam with, lasted about four years. DD and SIL lived with us...they did not put distilled water in it. as that would require them to walk down stairs. bad children, bad children lol
