I would lay your blocks out and see if you like the colors in the Dresdens with the colors in your Sue Bonnet blocks. How many of those do you have? I don't see anything wrong with making a mix and match if YOU are pleased with the lay out. Another way you could use your Dresden's would be to pick up on some of the basic colors and make a simple block to intersperse with them and just make a lap quilt.
