You need to lay out your beads and use a long thin needle. It's a pain in the rear. I did skating costumes. Never again.

If you have an embroidery machine, there are sashiko patterns which look very good. Babylock has a sashiko machine (expensive)

If you have digitizing software you can do your own sashiko patterns.

Keep your cat if you have one away from the beading. Goes for a toddler, too. My idiot cat tried to swallow the needle.

I bought some sashiko patterns for my machine and some indigo fabric and for the life of me can't find the fabric. One of my shops carry the hand sewn patterns, but doesn't have a web site. I do know you need to use a heavy thread in the machine. 60 I think.

I tried hand sashiko -- it's easy, but I didn't take to it. I bought a starter kit from Purl Soho but I have also seen a book in the library that had free designs to trace.

Do you know Mary Corbet's site, Needle n thread? That's the go-to blog for hand embroidery, with lots of tutorials.

    Oh, you are so correct.
I remember that sight. I lost alot of bookmarked sites which n my Kindle went down. Thank you.

I couldn't figure out exactly the name and then forgot about it. That is a grate site,  whooo hooo!!! NeedleNThread l. I found some Sashiko kits through Amazon, I think they could be alright to learn with.
I did see a book of Sashiko designs there too, that would be nice to have.
My daughter and I both live ve the Sashiko stitch so much, the simplicity, but hand stitch look, the machine would be beneficial.

Does ANYONE have the Babylock Sashiko ?
Do you like it? Let me know pros and cons if you do have one please.

I think it's so cool. I love stitch work. My Mom had done some hand embroidery, needle point, and I treasure
Every piece she made. I am wanting to display them with a little hand work of my own.

My mom n law is helping me learn to do embroidery. Shes good at it .Just make a B she says and fill it in , OK,
Hehehe, well I worked and worked on it my B never did look like hers.
I am slowly getting better. Being that I am just trying that's why I want what need but I don't know how much of it I will do. I love trying new things, just like the challenge, of trying to create the fabulous vibrant design's.
With the patchwork would be perfect.
    Thanks again.
