    Default Marking pen suggestions??

I am going to try some more advanced FMQ on my next project. To do this, I need to mark my lines in some areas. What are your suggestions for pens to use on both light and dark fabric? I have tried pencils in the past, but found them really hard to consistently mark well.

FriXion pens work very well....the ink disappears when you iron!

I also have had trouble with marking pencils. I've used the pencils, but I had to press so hard to make a mark that it distorted the fabric.
I tried a yellow chalk wheel pen like this on black fabric: Clover Chaco-Liner Marker - Yellow | Jo-Ann The chalk dust is easy to smear away but also easy to reapply.
I have used air erase pens. They worked okay for some area you are going to stitch the same day, but of course, are gone the next.
I am currently using a black FriXion pen. The marks usually disappear by ironing them but sometimes they leave a pale mark behind. However, my quilt projects wouldn't get done at all without the markings. So I consider this an acceptable happening. The pale marks have not been so noticeable that they leap out at you.
I have not yet found a perfect marker. Good luck
