What is the best fusible for use with machine applique?
I have used Heat and Bond and Wonder Under and they are "ok". Is there a really good fusible to use for machine applique and if so, where can you get it on the Internet? I don't live close to a LQS.
Thank you for your suggestions. I do know I am looking for featherweight.

I use Heat and bond featherweight. I know others use Steam a seam. Haven't tried that one yet.

I love Steam a Seam 2 Lite. It is light and easy to use. I had never had any issues with sewing through it.. And apparently, now you can put it in your ink jet printer, after cutting the page down to fit. (NOT to be used in a laser printer!) I haven't tried that yet but can see where it would come in handy. AND the company is great with customer service.
When the new product came out last year, I got a package that was sort of coming off the backing. In the middle of the night, I shot off an email to the company complaining. I don't normally complain to customer service but it was late, I was frustrated. The form asked for my phone number (optional) but I didn't leave it. I didn't want to talk to anyone, I just sort of wanted to vent. I got an email back asking for my phone number because they wanted to talk to me. I thought about it for a while. I mean, I USED the product, and did I really want to talk about it? Finally, a week later, I responded with my phone number. I received a phone call from a very nice customer service representative. I explained what happened and we figured out the problem. She offered to replace the package but I said no, since I did use most of it. Guess what?!? Yep, a package arrived a couple weeks later with two new packages of Steam A Seam 2 Lite.
Love it!? YES, I do! I use it on all of my applique quilts and pillows.

I also am a lover of steam a seam 2 lite. It is wonderful. Doesn't make your project stiff and is repositionable until pressed. Also have heard people talk about misty fuse but have not tried it. Used steam a seam 2 lite on this bedspread and it has been washed several times already.Attachment 117735Attachment 117736

Re: What is the best fusible for use with machine applique?
I took a class from Patrick Lose ( fabric and quilt designer) on appliqué and he uses Steam A Seam II Lite for his appliqué. He had the newly reissued product for us to use. I am sure as RiverMomm stated that this company wants their product to meet customers' expectations as they had to redesign it after one of their suppliers went out of business and they had to find a new supplier of the release paper.

So where is the best online place to buy it? I have some whales to fuse down. lol Don't say Joanns with a coupon cuz I don't have one.
Re: What is the best fusible for use with machine applique?
I have used Wonder Under with no problems but would love to try the Steam a Seam for comparison.
Re: What is the best fusible for use with machine applique?
I wouldn't mind trying this. I have a quilt that I want to make for my camper and this would be a good time to try it.
Re: What is the best fusible for use with machine applique?
I'm late to the party! I would not use any fusible except Steam a Seam II Lite. I've tried others and once had to trash a beautiful project (I remade it) because I could not sew through the Heat and Bond I used. I buy it from a local shop so I don't know where to buy it online. I hope you can find some. It's worth a hunt.

You can get it on Amazon.
