what is tissue paper foundation
I saw a pattern on M for mini quilted Xmas ornaments. When I pulled up the description it said includes tissue paper foundation. Does that mean these are paper pieced or something else? Thanks. I'm sure someone on here knows, and M is closed for the day.
Re: what is tissue paper foundation
Yes, that would be paper pieced, with tissue paper.
Re: what is tissue paper foundation
That what it's sounds like to me too. I did a paper piece project a bit ago and the paper it came on was very thin...like tissue paper thin.
But easy to do.
Re: what is tissue paper foundation
I've done paper piecing on tissue paper. It's very easy to use, tears out more easily than copy paper or paper foundation sheets. It also eliminates a lot of bulk at the seams. You need to be careful as it does tear easy esp when you dont want it to. Just apply a piece of scotch tape over that area.
Many paper piecing designers include printed tissue paper foundations in their patterns, such as Cindi Edgerton, Jinny Beyer and I think Judy Neimeyer.

I use tracing paper, like we use to use in art class.
