The result of my labors this weekend is a quilt intended for 3yr old boy - he most likely won't get it until the end of the year as I also plan to make something for his two sisters. My question to y'all - how would you finish this one because none of the ideas I've had so far are screaming 'pick me, pick me'?
Here's what the top currently looks like, sized about 41" square. Yes, I do like bright for kids. After all, I'm not the one that has to calm them down and get them to sleep at night.... My first idea was just to use some scrappy binding and it's done.
Another option would be to frame with a darker border. I have some purple that I thought about, but looking at the picture wonder if it all seems too halloweeny? Brown might be a bit calmer... but that color is sadly lacking in my stash so I would have to go fabric shopping - woe is me
And a final (for now) thought I had was to make it more rectangular by adding a thinner border then piano key border at the bottom, and then a final border around all of the quilt. I've got enough leftovers in red, orange and green for the piano key, I just used red and orange for this example.
Thanks all!
