Default White binding; Artistic choice or terrible decision?

So I'm working on a very modern looking quilt for my daughter who is due in Oct/Nov. The quilt will be mostly green with yellow and white accents. I'm thinking of binding it in white. Is this a terrible idea? The alternative is buying more yellow fabric or binding with a different shades of green. Has anyone ever used white binding on a quilt that was not predominantly white? Pictures or opinions welcome.

Quick baby update: Tab has an appointment on Wednesday to schedule the csection. We are hoping for Nov. 2 but you know babies don't always share our plans. So far Daisy is healthy and moving around a lot. Tab, Wiggles, and I can't wait to meet her.

I have only made one table runner with a white binding and will say this-it is in the wash more often than any other runner and I don't have any young children stopping by the house too often.

Glad to hear things are going well with Tabitha & Daisy!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with white binding - though I don't recall that I've ever used it. But, you are going to be washing a baby quilt more than others, so I don't see white as being an issue.

You know that Daisy will make her appearance when she wants to, right?

What does Mr. Wiggles have to say about a new baby coming to the house?

White works for me! Hopefully Miss Daisy won't come in the middle of a snowstorm! Oh yes, you are in the south now, no worries!

I think a white binding sounds artistic. As was pointed out you will be washing the quilt more frequently because it is for the little person, it shouldn't be a problem.

(If all the pieces fit perfectly, people will think it was made by a machine!) LOL

Nothing wrong with it if you feel it suits the quilt. Your quilt; your rules.

I have used white on several quilts and was happy with the results. I think it would be beautiful with a baby quilt!

I couldn't find pictures of my other quilts with white, but this one has white binding.

I am about to use white to bind a quilt that I want to finish tomorrow. I see no issue with it

Funny I'm binding a quilt for my granddaughter with white as I did the last one for her. Sometimes white is what makes sense.
