I have made 1 string quilt & have a few blocks made for a 2nd. It definitely helps to use a shorter stitch length. I used 2.0. Also press after each strip as you sew. The 10" paper will not be a true 10" once all those fabrics are sewn on. Measure with the ruler for the square 10" & trim. Then carefully remove the papers on the back so you don't stretch the seams & fabric. I use only 2.5" strips for my string quilts. Leftover binding strips & other scraps work well. Give it another try.
