yes its normal. and to get rid of the bulk you trim a little off... there are videos that show how to do it but another forum member will have to post a link....![]()

I just finished quilting a pinwheel quilt using meanders. I just try to quilt around those bulky centers if at all possible.
The best answer is to pinwheel the seams on the back.......trim back the stitches by just a couple and spin out the middle of the seams, then press..........it will lay flatter.
