Questions about Janome MC6600
Another Janome question. Do the accessories that fit on the MC6600P fit on the MC6600? Trying to buy a couple of new feet for my MC6600. Ad says fits MC6500 and MC 6600P etc etc even my Little Kittie machine but no mention of MC6600 . So are the 2 machines the same ? None of the info on any web sites specifies , my repairman doesn't know, no close dealer, and getting into Janome computerized answering system, oh my. Does anybody know?
Re: Questions about Janome MC6600
I can't answer with certainty on this but I think the definition 6600P is a newer model number for basically the same machine as the 6600. In this case, depending what feet you are looking for, the ones for 6500 and 6600 are all low shank clip on feet. If you are looking for a darning foot, get one that would fit a low shank machine. The only difference between 6600 and 6500 and other low shank machines is the Accufeed foot. Those would be only for the 6600 ( and I am assuming the 6600P). That is the difference between the 6500 and 6600, built in Accufeed. I did own a 6600 some years ago, I'm not 100% Sure of the upgrades!
Re: Questions about Janome MC6600
I am pretty sure one is a low shank and one is a high shank between the 6600 and the 6500. If you are buying snap on I don't think it makes a difference.
And I agree the 6600 and the 6600P are the same machine

I think both the 6500 and 6600 are low shank machines. The 1600 is the high shank machine like the Juki 2010 and Brother 1500 and several others.
Re: Questions about Janome MC6600
Glad for the answer ladies. I have the Accufeed & darning foot for my machine.Great attachments . I was looking at a foot that makes it easier to stitch in the ditch, and a foot that puts on binding ( not going to use for quilts). kathy
Re: Questions about Janome MC6600
there is a stitch in the ditch foot for the accufeed and there is a regular SITD foot too. Don't know about a binding foot

Speaking as a owner of a Janome 6600, it is a high shank machine.

Please oil your machine. There's a little round circle under the bobbin, place a couple drops of sewing machine oil in that. I had that same problem.
