Pattern for fat eights
Last year I bought a fat eights bundle of 30's fabric (Choles Closet) and need ideas of what to do with it. There are 40 fabrics with no repeats. fat quarter bundles were sold out and I just had to have this collection.

Granny Squares. There's a pattern on beeinmybonnet that shows how to put one together with 2-1/2 inch strips. Each set makes 2 blocks but you could easily modify that if you don't think you have enough fabric with your 1/8ths. I used a 30's JR and a 30's solid JR and had leftovers. With that pattern there's No triangles! You just square up your 9" blocks at the end which turns the zigzag edgez into straight seams. You might need a few solids to play off the 30's rows though.

My LQS, has been packaging bundles of 16 fat eighths (we call them Cuties) and publishing patterns to work with them. They can be found here: Quilt Basket - CUTIE Patterns

I am using fat eighths right now for a baby quilt - I'm making flying geese with them using Eleanor Burns method. You could easily get 8 (3 X 6) geese out of each fat eighth (using a solid background, of course)... that's a lot of geese!
