    Default Pieced Back

This is a close up of a baby quilt top I just finished.

Can you show me ideas please for a pieced back. I am too lazy and don't want to drag 3 young kids to a fabric store. I have fabric that I think will work but none of my pieces are big enough either direction. I need something as simple as possible because I hope to have this done for a baby shower next week Sat.
Here's some of the fabric I'm thinking might work. What do you think?
P.S. I think the binding is going to be some marble citrus (super bright) fabric that I have)

How about squares? simple squares of different fabrics? Of course making the squares as big as the fabric allows you to avoid waste!

There's a free craftsy class you might want to look at. I think the easiest way is large squares or rectangles or strips if you have enough. Congrats on finishing the top. I would say pick your favorite fabric out of your stash and then see how much you need to add to it to make the back large enough.

Can you fit squares or rectangles of the fabrics you have the most of onto a stripe about 1/3 of the way down the length of the quilt ? The stripe could be composed of varying sizes of rectangles of the fabrics you have the least of. I recommend drawing the back of the quilt to scale and then penciling in various schemes for using those scrap fabrics until you find a fit. Somewhere I saw a blogger who posted a diagram showing this. If I can find it again I will edit this post to show you the link.

Edit: Found the blog I was referring to - christaquilts.com. She has diagrams. But even better, to inspire you, I found this Pinterest page that includes Christa's diagrams but so much more.

Thank you for all the inspirational help! I love the look of pieced backs. I should do it on purpose more often.

I was thinking these 4 fabrics. The grey polka dots would go in 2 strips. Down that side and across the middle. I sent my husband the picture to ask his opinion ... He more often has better color sense than I do - lol. He replied that I needed to go to the fabric store and find something else. Guess I won't argue with that! Hahah
But, if you think this looks ok I'm going for it anyway I'm not so sure about the grey fabrics.

It's interesting but it's big enough so I'll call it good enough. Thank you so much for all your help and suggestions!

Pinterest doesn't like to let you see what's on their pages. They black out 2/3 of the page giving you just a small strip of window to see items. This is very frustrating! What's up with that!?
