Default Question about rag quilt for a baby boy

I can't find a flannel fabric in a precut that I like. I love the Jungle Club precut but it doesn't come in flannel. Would it work if I put two layers of solid flannel and used the cotton Jungle Club charm pack? I don't want anything too babyish so the baby can use it longer. He will live in Houston, Texas when he's born, but both his parents are from Vera Cruz, Mexico. They teach at my DGD's ballet studio that she attends. Houston, being close to the Gulf, doesn't have severe winters.

    TIA, Dolly

I would go for it - the charm squares on top and perhaps a solid on the back. Cut your flannel yardage to the same size as the charms and clip, wash and watch the fray happen. Some people do add a second layer of flannel, but it probably wouldn't be needed since they are in Houston.
    Be warned. I am BORED.
    This could be dangerous.

When you get cold just go stand in the corner.
    They are usually 90 degrees.

A giraffe's coffee would be cold by the time it reached the bottom of his throat.
Ever think about that? No? You only think about yourself??

Thanks, Sandy. I was just thinking maybe it would fray better with two layers of flannel.

That's exactly what I did for the three rag quilts I made for Christmas. I wanted to do licensed fabrics for them, but they don't make any of them in flannel. I used cotton on the top, and then two layers of flannel (white solid for the middle and a coordinating solid for the backing) the same size as the cotton square. The flannel will rag real nice for you. The cotton rags, but not real well... so to compensate you add the flannel in the middle.
