Pink and gray are fantastic colors together. As said, these are very calming. Certainly a quilt to curl up in and read a book.

Life is short - live it up while you can
I do not understand, I see the pop. Perhaps you are looking at it too much or too frequently too closely. I bet if you put it away for a week or two and then got it back out it would pop out at you. I like it.![]()
I thinks it's fantastic. I f you truly don't want it you can send it my way.![]()
It's very pretty and you can see the illusion effect in the pic.

You are all wrong. The quilt is mine. I see the pop easily. In fact, I like it much better than the multi-colored varieties. You blocks float!

I cooked today. I made a quilt sandwich
Put a small inner border of dark gray or black on there and watch your colors pop :-) I think it is a very pretty quilt as is, too!

Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong
First, I agree with the others -- I like it too!
Second, yes perhaps you don't like it because the print in the pink fabric tends to blend with the shadow color vs. the high contrast colors used in the tutorial.
However, it is a great quilt! You should finish it. Whoever gets to be wrapped up in this one will be lucky!

I, too, love the quilt. It's peaceful and sweet and lovely and feminine all at the same time.

Are we noticing a pattern here?

The quilt looks very peaceful...no pun intended. The pink/grey combination is also very elegant.
So many fabrics/books/recipes, so little time.....
I love your quilt top. I'm making one also with a softer shadow and can't wait to see it quilted. If you make another one you might try using a variety of fabric for the rectangles. I think that would give it more pop.
