    Default Opinion Please

I found these d9p blocks that I made a long time ago. Not sure why they got put aside, but sewed them together. After this pic, I added a narrow white border and now I'm ready for the outside border.

I'd like to add a bright hot pink narrow strip or piping next to the floral, but I'm not sure if it's too bright. I'm trying to stick with using up some of my stash. Maybe I should just keep it simple and add the floral to the white border. Undecided......what do you think?

That fabric looks familiar! As long as you are echoing a fabric in the quilt, I think it will go just fine! The hot pink may need some toning down, unless you make it very narrow. I really love your quilt, I love the fabric and the D9P set this way!

I like the Hot Pink piping. It really sets off the borders!

I think it will look fine if your keep the hot pink narrow. The picture of the border fabric is a close-up where you see the color more than the picture of the quilt top. That makes the border fabric look brighter. I think it will look very good.

It's RJR Cold Spring Dream charm packs and the floral for border is from the same collection. That bright pink is a Kona cotton and the more I look at it, the more I think it's too bright. I think I'll try a sample of tiny piping next to the floral and see how it looks.

It seems that no matter how much stash I have on hand, I never seem to have just the right color when I need it!

It is difficult to tell from the picture how the pink will stand out. It does look nice to me. If you question your choice that may tell you that you are not sold on the combination. When I choose fabrics I "know it when I see it". When you get the right combination it yells YES.
I also think about how important is the quilt to me. If it is going to be used heavily I am not so picky about just the right color. You should feel proud of finishing a UFO!

I'm a lavender person. I think the hot pink is too "hot" for this quilt. How wide is the white border? Do you need another border to increase the size of the quilt? If not, you could just go ahead & bind it with lavender or one of the fabrics in the quilt top. If you don't have enough, you can always do a pieced binding of several of the fabrics.
