How to mix texture and fabric type, from Way out West
Hello
Sadly, I have had a number of losses in under 5 years, my father, mother and unexpectedly my 16 year old daughter. I have some of their clothes that I have saved and want to make a couple of quilts for my sister and I.
I am now thinking that making blocks up using similar fabric types might be the way to go and sashing in between to bring a bit of stability.
The fabric includes shirts(cotton and poly/cotton and a few rayon Bali shirts), skirts (cotton, poly/cotton, stretch velvet) and odds and sods so to speak (synthetic petticoats, polar fleece dressing gown, synthetic interlock evening gown...very fashionable last century some time in the 1980's).
All of the clothes hold memories for us and I'd love to hear any helpful ideas.
I also want to thank you all so much for your kindness when I first entered the forum, I have felt very comforted and supported by others from all over the world.
Jane
