I purchased the book "Quilts in Morocco" by Kaffe Fassett and have cut out most but not all of the pieces cut for the quilt "Cayenne". You can see it here. I don't know how to import the photo.

I have just found out by sheer luck while browsing online that this pattern's directions were printed wrong. Unfortunately the error concerns some strips that I have already cut in fabric named "Flame Stripe" (it is the very zig zaggy one). The directions said to cut them 4 3/4ths inches wide. Now the correction says to cut them 5 inches wide. OOPS.

Now the "Flame Stripe" fabric strips are supposed to be pieced to "Pebble Mosaic" to make a block. The block's size was originally to be 9 inches square, now corrected to 9 1/2 inches square. These will then be trimmed to 8 1/2 inch squares.

My hopefully saving grace is that I have not cut the Pebble Mosaic fabric yet. Can I just cut it wider than even the stated correction? In other words, 5 1/4" wide to make up for the missing quarter inch of the Flame Stripe?
