    Default Border or No Border?

I have just finished this quilt and cannot decide whether or not to add a border. My husband says no, but it only measures 58 inches squared. I wanted the quilt to be a bit bigger. Should I add a border or should I keep it the way it is? If so, what color border? For some reason the picture is posting sideways. I don't know how to fix it. Also, the white block is for the explanation of the quilt blocks.

I like it without the border. I think adding borders would detract from the blocks. The square shape fits the quilt.

But if you want it bigger, maybe a border of something like flying geese, in the same colors you use in the quilt. It is beautiful the way it is, tho.

I'm sorry to say I think hubby is right! Is another row of blocks possible? Your blocks are lovely.

I agree that it looks lovely just as it is. I also like Claire's suggestion of adding another row of blocks. However, if you want to add borders, I would add a wide border similar in color with the background fabrics you used. If you want it even larger, then I'd do three borders, the first in the background color, next in the burgundy, and finally in a green. The width of each border would vary depending upon your preferences.

What a fantastic quilt. Wish I could see it in person. I would add a 4" border if you really want it to be larger, as another row of blocks would be quite a bit of work--you are probably burned out from getting this far. Color for the border? I would choose a dark tone on tone gray.I think a green border would not look good, but I realize that sometimes colors don't show up true on a computer screen. Your blocks look blue gray to me not green. Actually they look like that civil war blue color. If u know what I mean?
