Glorious Hummingbirds sashing question
I have a jelly roll of the Glorious Hummingbirds line that was a DD way back when. I was planning on making the 3 Dudes pattern and sashing each block (instead of sewing them together and stressing out over the seams not matching.) I was thinking of using a light shade of purple/lavender/violet to create a border around each block. I usually pull a color from the fabric line, but there is no purple that I can see! I guess if I match the tonal quality of one of the "solid" prints, it might blend well. Just want to get opinions from experienced quilters!

If you have the right tone, purple would look nice with the other colors. You might check the brand of fabric. They could have one of the tone on tone fabrics available in a lavender?

Re: Glorious Hummingbirds sashing question
Without seeing a purple with it, it's hard to say. I don't see any purple in the bundle. If it were mine, I'd try a pink or green. Don't get hung up on perfectly matching either...it's much easier to find something that blends it all together than it is to perfectly match.
Sometimes the best way is to lay out some of the blocks on different colors and see what looks best to you.
