Yes you can.
My machine has the smallest throat space on a domestic machine but I recently made my first quilt, start to finish, on it. The quilt turned out to be a full size (I intended for it to be a twin..oops) and I found it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
A walking foot helps, but a good straight stitch is what you need most.
