Makes perfect sense to me as I, too, have developed my own way of QAYG. I chose a patterned or darker backing and just ignored anything that showed through. I don't have a huge list of quilts to brag about, tho, and I don't remember any obvious "show throughs". I have another one partially pieced, in columns, and am ready to start the quilting.
