I'm making a QAYG quilt where you begin with 10" squares of just the top fabric with the batting on the bottom. It uses mostly do straight stitches prior to adding applique'. My question is, do you use a regular foot to do this quilting or do you put on your walking foot? I have a Pfaff with IDT and my test with and without it had different issues, but neither was fully satisfactory. I also wondered if I needed to adjust my foot pressure.

I realize I could just keep using trial and error, but I'd love any advice before I use up all my patience.
