Thoughts on "design"
Lesson learned! Never give a throw size quilt to a 4 year old when 6 year old brother gets a BIG quilt!!! Granddaughter want a "big" quilt like brothers . Ok. She wants her name on the quilt. Not a problem. Planning on 10 block with a letter in each (name is 5 letters). Colors will be pink and purple with maybe very light "apple green".
Thoughts on how to finish??? My thoughts have been either rectangles or squares of prints OR 5 inch squares of shades of pinks and purples. Does this make sense to you or is it just in my "head"???

Re: Thoughts on "design"
Not sure I follow what you have in mind. Are you looking for suggestions of quilt patterns? I would do a structured disappearing 9 patch and put the name in the larger squares. Something like this but in the colors you mentioned. If you make the "apple green" the center of the 9 patch it will end up the little block, more of an accent color. The large blocks are the corners in the original 9 patch and you could make several of those solid rather than print so the name stands out. Hope all that makes sense.

Preeti-- Oh, yes, this is what I was thinking but, have the name go straight across the center.
Thanks to all comments

Preeti in the first picture I see something on the table that looks like a burp cloth but it looks like there is another piece of fabric on top of the burp cloth. How do you make these? Do you have a closer picture of them? How did you do the blankets? Do they have the self-binding? What a pretty gift set. And the quilt is the icing on the cake for sure.

Re: Thoughts on "design"
I use the left over fabric from the receiving blankets to make the burp cloths. I need two rectangles - 10" by 18" to make a burp cloth. But the leftover fabric is not enough to yield a complete rectangle. Therefore they need to be pieced from scraps. What you see is actually a pieced burp cloth. There is another picture here.
