    Default Strange Quilt Help Request

    Hello friends!
I have a bit of a strange request. I found this lovely Peacock Quilt Pattern on the Joanns website, but there is information missing. It gives the fabric names to know what to purchase and then diagrams for 6 different blocks that makeup the quilt. However, it does not give the cutting directions for each fabric to make the blocks. I have tried their FB page, which directed me to their customer service. Their customer service's only suggestion was "try looking on Pinterest to see if you can find additional information to help you". I have been trying to use the picture to figure out what fabric goes with each block, but it is getting to be a challenge. I know this is a a far stretch, but any suggestions would be helpful. It would be a miracle to be put in contact with the person who made it or with someone who works for Joanns who could help get me in the information I need, but it is worth a shot!

I put a picture of the quilt below with the description they give. There are also 6 diagrams for the 6 blocks, but they only have the finished size for each piece of the block listed. I didn't attach those.

That sure is a pretty quilt. I love the colors. I'll go to the website and try to find the directions for you, but I'm not that good with getting directions from them. I tried a bunch of times yesterday to get some knitting directions for a baby hat and I couldn't get it. Pat

That is weird. They tell you the sizes to cut but not which fabric to use for each piece.
From that picture it is difficult to figure out which fabric goes where.

http://demandware.edgesuite.net/aamm.../4853872P5.pdf This is where I found the block figures but these directions are really sketchy, Guess that is why they said experience necessary??LOL I downloaded the PDF file.

Strange isn't it?! I can usually be pretty resourceful, but since the quilt is folded over a bit in the picture I am having a hard time figuring out a couple of the diagrams and where the fabric goes. I did make #6 block last night since that was the easiest to figure out from the picture. Here are the diagrams for those interested.

I think I would get out some colored pencils for those diagrams. Do you have a design wall? That would help arranging them. Pretty fabrics!

Did you get the download? Step #1 under cutting says to click on the "Download Project pdf."

Yes, the downloads are the block diagrams I posted above. The diagrams give the finished sizes of each section in the block. The issue is they don't give information on what fabrics make up each block.

That's crazy! I can see a couple of the blocks but you shouldn't have to figure it out that way. It says to arrange the blocks whatever way you want, but I would think that would be after you've got all the blocks made. Since they gave you a specific amount of fabric to work with you would think they would tell you what to do with them. I wonder if they really are just leaving it up to you?

I am so glad I am not the only one that thinks this is crazy. I don't mind coming up with the layout myself, but having to figure out what fabric goes where in the blocks is annoying. I started with block #6 since those are the easiest to figure out from the picture (peacock beige and chevron tan) and I am working backwards. I am on #5 now, but having a hard time trying to figure out where #3 and 4 are in the picture.
