I have both the pink one and the Orange/black one. I use mine so frequently (practically daily) that I don't bother emptying it out. When I got my pink one and put the other one away to use as a spare, I did empty all the water out of it first.

I use mine pretty frequently too so I dont empty it as long as I can leave it sitting down flat. If I have to sit it upright then I empty it.

I do ,but my kids don't--over one year old which is good for an iron for us. In addition to quilting my children are both black belts so they iron a great deal... a great great deal of heavy weight cotton, (14 oz)

Mine is brand new and I want to keep it in top condition because it's the most expensive iron I've ever had. So far yes I actually do empty mine out.

Good question. I just got the blue Oliso and wondered too. I haven't emptied mine yet.

I have a blue Oliso iron and I never have emptied mine - I usually have it on most days because I am working on projects.
