Default What do I do next?

So a few years ago I bought a 10 degree wedge ruler then I found a bunch of fat quarters, started slicing and dicing, and ended up with this busy circle. And no idea what to do about the hole in the middle. After two years of procrastination, tonight I finally figured it out, I think. Sewed a circle with my fabric right side with some muslin then cut a hole in the muslin and turned it inside out. No idea what that method is called, but I remembered seeing it on a M* tutorial. Anyway, the center is done and stitched to the quilt just using a straight stitch close to the edge. My question is - is it 'done' or should I use a decorative stitch or satin stitch around the edge to finish it off and cover where the muslin underside is visible? It feels secure just with the straight stitch but....

My goal is to keep this quilt circular, forcing me to learn how to make bias binding.

All advice gratefully received - thank you!

The quilt - about 52' diameter, with enough seams to drive an obsessive presser to drink

The center circle, about 10' diameter

Pretty cool looking. Its an ok size for a small throw. Depends on what you are wanting it for. Although I would not know how to add. I like it as is.

I would call it 'done'. The quilt has a clean modern style and the straight stitch close to the edge is in keeping with that style.

Add your bias binding and give yourself a pat on the back.

It's beautiful. How about a wall hanging? What a WOW entrance it would make on an entry wall.

Liz, I think it's awesome! I'd square that off with some pieced borders or plain matching borders with quarter rounds in the corners, back it, and bazinga, a very special quilt!

Call it the Procrastination Vortex or something like that, ROFL!

Shirley, it is Meadow Friends - well spotted. The 'solid' gold is a Stonehenge, which I'll also be using for the binding. CarrieJ - definitely need to get you to name all my quilts :-)

    I love it!
I think it's a perfect size for doing a number of things with too. =^.^=
The little frogs make me think of a belly mat for new babies. A perfect containable play space.
Or back it in blue jean(or a table cloth... though those are hard to quilt through and there may be quite a few "descriptive phrases" directed at it before it's done) for an outdoor theater sit upon/mini picnic blanket.
(My hope for next winter is to have one in very similar colors to put on the middle of my table for the family feasting spread)
The swirl you put together is fantastic!
