Kim Diehl's Applique Method
My daughter gave me a Kim Diehl quilting book, "Simple Appeal" for Christmas. I love, love, love her designs but I have never tried her applique method. Last night I ordered the bias bars, quilt basting glue, and invisible thread that she recommends in her supply list. I have all the other supplies.
My question is this. Have any of you tried the polyester invisible (monofilament) thread? I have only used the nylon. Last night I ordered the nylon as it is so much less expensive than the polyester. I know that I have to be careful not to melt the nylon when doing a final press but geez louise that polyester monofilament is like buying gold. I bought 1500 yds of nylon for what 500 yds of polyester would cost. It seems like Kim is partial to the nylon in her instructions. If she had clearly recommended the polyester I would have gone that direction. Just wondered what your experience has been.
