What is the name of this quilt block?

I was invited to attend a class next month and they are going to make this quilt. She calls it a Carpenter's Star, but it's not the Carpenter's Star that I am familiar with.

What is the pattern called? I have browsed quilter's cache, but there are so many blocks there I got overwhelmed.

The center star is the Lemoyne Star. The others are partial Lemoyne Stars. Not sure what it is called when put together this way.

I think May did this pattern this past year. I agree, it isn't a Carpenters Star.

It does have a similar layout as the quilt I did earlier this year with a full block in the center and 3/4 blocks surrounding it but the star is different. Star I used may have several names but I went with Star of Bethlehem. My book/quilt small group's challenge early last year was to create a quilt inspired by a novel we all had read. I chose the Star of Bethlehem because it was one the main character used in a quilt. I think my star is also called a carpenters star or wheel. What do you think?

Yes, I think yours are carpenter's stars for sure. I think it's also called a swoon block.

Ya know, you are right. I saw the Lemoyne initially but then thought of the entire quilt as a block instead. I should have broke it down. Thanks!

Thanks but can't take credit for the pattern and layout as it was a video I came across. Can't remember the name of the quilter, she makes many good quilting Utubes, sounds English or Australian and usually wears a scarf. Several quilters on this forum have mentioned her.

Have to mention this was also a scrap quilt, the first one that I've made that doesn't look like it was made from leftovers.
