Working with Flannel
Hi all -- I'm a newbie to this forum, so forgive me if this is an old, old question.
I'm making a quilt for my 2-year-old granddaughter, from flannel, backed with flannel.
Question>> What to use for batting? Do I just use my faithful 80/20 blend, low rise batting? Or do I need something special?
Thanks!

Re: Working with Flannel
I am about to make a quilt from a Frozen panel and flannel on the back. I plan on using a low loft batting in the middle of the sandwich. I have only done one other flannel quilt and used the same batting I usually use which is 80/20.
It seems to have worked out just fine.

Re: Working with Flannel
Welcome from North Carolina!! I've not done any flannel yet but I will follow along to see how it goes for you!,
I've done some fleece and that is quite linty in the machine/bobbin casing, so I'd suggest you check now and then for a need to vacuum out the areas that get lint collection!!,
Merry Christmas!!

Re: Working with Flannel
Welcome to the forum. I make rag quilts for my grandkids and use warm and natural. My oldest GS he's 7- loves his quilt and drags it all over the house with him. That thing is do darn heavy I can barely carry the thing. I made it large enough for an extra long twin, provided it lasts that long. It's full of wilderness and bears as his nickname is bear.
