Do these 2 fabrics go together?
Thinking of making an ohio star quilt using jinny beyer's milan line for the actual stars and Melodies Sundae for the lights in the hst. I love both lines but am having trouble deciding how they would look together. Or this combo would make a dramatic log cabin? Anybody care to weigh in? I know it's Christmas week and you have nothing else going on.
I would like to wish everyone on the forum a happy holiday and a big thank you for all your help this year. And an extra hug for Sandy N and Karen whose dedication and sense of humor is always so delightful.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
If you could post some sample pixs of the fabric that would help. I'm familiar with the Ohio Star.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I looked in the MSQ shop and found both fabrics you listed. The milan line is very intense and the other is very soft and dainty. I would not use them together, but that's just me.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
Do you already have both?
I also looked and maybe I'm missing something but the Milan seems too bold. I'm doing a quilt now using a Lexington JR and a Butterscotch layer cake - and perhaps these would work for you. There may not be enough contrast with some of the Lexington strips though.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I agree with the others. I do not see those 2 fabric lines playing together well.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
These two fabric lines do not play well together.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I found them on the shop page. I am not great with color combinations (I think that is why I like charm packs :0) but I am having a hard time visualizing these two lines working together. Sorry.

Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I don't think I would put these two together. The bright bold colors would make the other fabric look washed out. They are beautiful separate but not together. That's my opinion anyway.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
Ok ok I can totally see that these 2 do NOT look good together. No worries I haven't purchased either yet, I was just dreaming about it. Buckeye would you PLEASE tell me how you loaded those two fabric images side to side? If I learned to do that it would be a Christmas present to me and something I would do a lot. Can I do that on a kindle? Thanks and Merry Christmas everyone.

I use Corel PaintShop for my graphics and photos. I don't know if it can be used on a Kindle, I've never tried it on mine.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
Yes I knew it was butter pecan not butterscotch. I lov
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I meant to say I love that one too. Boy, sometimes a message will instantly fly into outer space and post itself leaving me behind saying hey!! I wasn't done with that yet! But your correction wasn't needed, sometimes we quilters think alike!
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
I wouldn't use them together.
Re: Do these 2 fabrics go together?
Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses--but never mind. My BIL claimed my sister's favorite color was dark purple, now I found out it is pale pink. (Glad I didn't buy anything he recommended!!) Looks like I'll have to continue searching for fabric but I love that part so I really don't mind. Who can't spend hours, days, weeks ?drooling over fabric at M * and FQS right.
