Has anyone taken the backing and wrapped it to the front to make the binding? I'm not sure what is the typical amount for overage to be sure I have enough to do at least a 1 1/2 to 2 " binding on the front or should it be less? How easy or difficult to do mitered corners using this method?

I'm getting ready to cut fabric and sew together for the backing but before I do, I'm trying to figure this out.
